The Sing and Discover Story Piano, recommended for children 12 to 36 months, is an interactive musical toy for toddlers. Turning the book pages changes the curriculum of the piano keys and twinkling music notes in the two modes of play. Create music with the piano keys, tap to the beat on the drum pad or sing along with one of the many songs with the real working microphone.
I love music, and so do both of my little girls. I’d like to think it’s because I always bought them toys like this when they were young. And pairing the music with an interactive story is one of the best ideas around! This is also one of the first I’ve seen with a real working mic, can you believe that? Now your kid can be even more entertained, and learn to sing when they hear what their voice sounds like! Before you know it they’ll be an opera singer. (Okay, maybe I’m getting a little ahead of myself here, ha ha.) With two modes of play, music and learning, this is a great two in one toy for your child to hone both their creativity and their mind. And of course be sure to join in!
The main drawback to this toy is that it can get loud, even on the lowest setting. Ultimately it won’t be a problem for your little ones, but it might be for you parents out there. Just be sure to limit the play time and definitely don’t make it easily reachable in their room. We all know how children love to terrorize us in the middle of the night with any loud noise they can make, ha ha!

What Others are Saying
My son got this for his first birthday, and loves it. It’s got lots of different buttons for him to push, two different modes, plus the pages of the book turn, and the buttons correspond to the page. Also, it’s got a microphone that really works, and he loves to listen to himself. We’ve got a couple of VTech toys now, and they’ve held up great to banging, drooling, chewing, and just generally being beat up.
Sensitive to low battery.
It is a nice toy for my 11-mo old baby. He had not figured how to use the mike, but turning pages and pressing buttons is fun enough for him now. However, the toy has one big issue from my point of view. While most other toys start playing quieter or stop abruptly when the battery level is low, this one keeps playing at the top volume but misses the words or notes (there are gaps in sound so that the kid cannot listen to the songs or music anymore and gets frustrated).
Price and Recommendation
Overall, this is a very good toy of its variety, despite some problems it has. But hey, no one’s perfect, right? The variety of play on this toy, for me, outweighs the cons. For the best price and to read all the reviews, check it out here!
